SUFFERING FROM SCOLIOSIS in Geldermalsen?
Scoliose in Geldermalsen, a curvature of the spine.
What is Scoliosis in Geldermalsen?
The non-medical term for scoliosis, a crooked spine, makes it clear in one fell swoop what scoliosis is. In scoliosis, the spine is laterally curved. 4% of people have it and yet it is a relatively unknown form of back pain.
If the spine curves to one side, with one bend, it is called a C-shaped curvature. If the spine curves to two sides, and therefore has two curves, this is called an S-shaped curvature.
Often the spine also rotates around its axis (torsional scoliosis), which creates a bulge at chest height on the back, or a hunchback (gibbus).
Scoliosis can cause back pain, especially when you bend over.
What other complaints/conditions can you have when you have scoliosis?
- A tilted pelvis.
- Uneven legs.
- Pain radiating to your legs.
- Fatigue due to reduced lung function.
Incidentally, scoliosis does not necessarily cause complaints. Certainly, in children there are usually no complaints at all. This does not alter the fact that treatment is necessary for children to prevent complaints in the future.
The sooner you discover scoliosis, the better the treatment can be. The main goal of the treatment is to keep your spine from curving further.
CHIROPRACTIC CARE FOR SCOLIOSIS
A chiropractor focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system, but his ultimate goal is to allow the entire nervous system to function optimally again via dosed mechanical impulses. A more complete form of treatment than, for example, physiotherapy, Cesar therapy and Mensendieck.
